Plz Be Nice, I Cry Easily
This fear has been holding me back (but we're working on it).
Okay first things first, I’m finally listening to Sabrina Carpenter’s new album and I love her so much. This album is so good! 💕
NOW, FOR WHAT’S ON MY MIND:
I think we can all agree there’s been a huge shift in business/entrepreneurship over the past 4-5 years. Between the Pandemic which led to more online businesses, the Great Resignation that led to more people stepping into entrepreneurship, stimulus checks that boosted business owners’ sales for a bit, and the rise of personal branding via social platforms like TikTok and the like…there’s been a lot to keep up with!
With all of this in mind, I’ve been thinking a lot about what “business” actually looks like anymore. I’ve dramatically expanded the way I look at it over the past few days!
Last week Lyndon & I went out for a spontaneous date night and our entire conversation was about this topic: what “business” actually looks like for us now. And boy oh boy did we unlock a lot of new perspectives in those few hours (and a few more the following day)!
For context, over the past decade our “business” has predominantly revolved around being service providers (ie: photography or coaching). And while that stills plays a big role, it’s not the whole pie anymore.
As I look at the online space and how much is now at our fingertips compared to five years ago, the game has changed and I’m seeing so much potential that we haven’t fully tapped into.
So what the heck makes up the rest of the pie?? I’m not going to go super into detail on these just yet, but I’ll give you the cliff notes version:
Passive Income (digital goods via our Stan Store)
Affiliate Income
Social Platform Funds:
TikTok Creator Fund
Threads Bonuses
Instagram Gifts/Payouts
Brand Partnerships
Investment Properties
We’re already doing some of these but there’s quite a few we haven’t even started on yet. And if you know us, you know we preach the power of messy action + baby steps (you gotta just start somewhere!).
For us, in this context that looks like:
Posting content a lot more consistently (quality > quantity) because I want to grow our audience accordingly and create more shareable & educational content — on Threads, Instagram, AND TikTok.
Working on overcoming my fear of negative comments because dammit, I KNOW we have so much powerful content to share (and I also want to get in on those Creator Funds) but my fear is holding me back! (if you have any suggestions or resources on this, please hit reply and tell me 🙏🏼)
Creating more Passive Income opportunities (like our NEW mini course: iPhone Content Made Easy, which officially dropped today!!)
Honestly, I’m so excited to dig more into this and you’ll probably hear more updates as we go along! 🤗
The Biggest Compliment is…🥹
Two weeks in a row we’ve had previous coaching clients reach back out to us about booking another coaching session with us. This is hands down one of the biggest compliments — it means so much and makes our entire day every time!!
We dive into all kinds of good stuff like this inside our coaching session!! You can see our coaching packages here; we have a few spots open for September and would love to work with you!
If you made it this far, YOU’RE AMAZING (and I have no doubt amazing things are in store for you, too). ✨
